1991 Chevy S10: Timmy the truck

Just a simple 4.3 V6 shortbed S10 with a finish only mother nature could create. It’s dropped a few inches on springs and spindles up front and leaves and blocks out back. The wheels are late eighties Caprice and the center caps are from a ’70’s C10. The grille came from the sorta-rare Oldsmobile Bravada. This was a fun little truck and came out just how I wanted when I was done.

I will build at least two more some day.

Probably my favorite picture of Timmy.

Love the Bravada grille! It reminds me of the late ’70’s Pontiac Firebird.  RTimmy the truck (17)

Timmy did work too, hauling a bed full of stuff on a regular basis. This load was towards th end of a 300 mile day, and consisted of 4 nascar wheels and tires, 2 loose nascar tires, a pair of Ikea wardrobes and a good sized cabinet (along with a bunch of smaller odds and ends.)

I tried to run a set of Corvette ZR1 wheels but the fronts were more of a challenge than I had time to sort out. Still, the 315 width rear tires on the 17×11 wheels looked right tucked up under the fenders.

Greg Leone’s School Bus car hauler and Gymkhana Nissan S13

In response to Alex F’s comment asking for more info on the school bus converted car hauler in my post about Camouflaged cars, here ya go!

Does anyone remember Greg Leone from the MTV show “True Life: I’m a Street Racer”? Well this is his short bus…

And a cool story from a guy who met Greg and “Pepper” as the bus is named:

And how about his car? This thing is sick! Luxury Abstract wheels, S15 front end conversion, military themed details, widebody fenders, cantilevered suspension and much more!

Viper powered Saab 9-3

Some people are crazy, and awesome, and simultaneously talented. An unsuspecting Saab got torn down to this:Image

Then got some body work:

Then got mated with this:Image

A whole ton of fab work later, it got to this:

It got painted, and showed:

Then some fresh paint and carbon fiber, along with new wheels, and finally got to shred some tires:

Feature: Nathan Benton’s 2009 Chevy Cobalt SS

Pics and words: Nathan Benton

I posted a pic of this car for Cool wheels that work on everything v.4: BBS LM

and the owner contacted me with some more info. So, without further ado, Nathan Benton’s 2009 Chevy Cobalt SS.

Nathan has owned his Cobalt for two years, and started modding it as soon as he got it home.

Currently it’s equipped with a Hahn Intercooler, Cold Air Intake with Injen charge pipes with the stock K04 on it but  Nathan was able to get 324hp 421tq with AEM water/meth and a 30psi spike tune. He is still utilizing the stock clutch, along with the stock internals which have been known to withstand up to 500hp!

Originally Nathan was running 18×9.5 Varrstoens es2.2.1 but wanted to get away from the extreme stance look and get something more functional so after performing a hub swap and ditching the 5×110 with 5×114.3 hubs, he was able to put on the 17×8-front 17×9-rear BBS LMs.

Additionally, Nathan added some other goodies like a Powell Raceshop Tow hook and Harness bar as well as a very stiff rear sway bar. He has autox’d the car a few times and have actually placed in his class recently.

Nathan says the Cobalt has been awesome, and he plans on getting ZZP’s EFR 6758 kit which is a direct bolt on, and he’d like to rebuild the LMs to 18s. Check out his flickr page for more pics:

Nathan gets much respect from me, and if anyone else out there has a cool car they would like to see on the site, send me some pics and info to safety.stance@yahoo.com

Full engine build

700+hp

5 lug big brake kit with rear disc conversion

Work Meister wheels

Widebody kit

and the list just goes on…
