Sema: Suit and Tie edition

“VIP” has grown as a style from the days of big black, mostly stock-bodied Japanese sedans slammed on static suspension and big expensive wheels. Nowadays, pretty much any color and any make is fair game, as well as crazy body kits and loud details.

The new, “Imported from Detroit” Chrysler 300C looks natural dropped on flashy wheels.

The new Hyundai Genesis sedan sitting mean in a dark grey is another example of the new VIP.

Fitment being on point is still a big part of the VIP trend as demonstrated on this VIP Y50, or Infiniti M45 as it is more commonly known.

Another Infiniti M45. What are your thoughts on these wheels?

Sema day four highlights:

Day four was the shortest for me, I regret that I only discovered Toyo Tires awesome treadpass as I was leaving as it may have had the sum total of the coolest metal at the event. Enjoy day four:

Import Alliance Atlanta 4/21/13 v.3: The VIPS

Some of these are less than traditional, but all have a VIP flavor!

Acura CL painted Laguna blue from a E46 M3, rocking BMW 7 Series wheels:Image

Non traditional wheel color choice, but it works on this stanced Acura RL:Image

Luxury Abstract wheels work wonders on this blacked out toucan-beaked Acura TL:Image

This mask was on the dash of the red-wheeled Acura TL above!Image

Good looking Honda Accord on some wheels I don’t know the name of:Image

Luxury Abstract mesh makes another appearance on this blacked out  Honda Accord:
Image

Black not your style? How about white on white like this Honda Accord?Image

The BMW 7 series wheels are very popular for VIP on a budget due to their availability and wide 19″ sizes, as shown in chrome on this Infiniti M45:Image

Some really nice custom work on the back bumper of this Infiniti M45:Image

Burgundy paint and bronze lips make this wheel choice pop on this G35:Image

Infiniti M45’s are a staple in the VIP ethos of tuning, and it’s not hard to see why!Image

G35’s are making their mark too, as this example on Weds Kranze Bazreia proves!Image

The lighting wasn’t very good in this shot, but BMW 7 series wheels make a third appearance. Check out the JDM front bumper on this Infiniti M45.Image

G37 looking aggressive!Image

Another Infiniti M45:Image

Another, with a ton of custom bodywork:Image

G37 coupe rolling through:Image

Mustang Cobra wheels work well on this Lexus GS300:Image

The blacked out accents make this Lexus GS430 look menacing:Image

Some rarely seen Work VS-MX on this Lexus SC300:Image

Simple styling and color matching sets this Lexus GS430 off!Image

BMW 7 series wheels on this Nissan 300ZX give it a little VIP style!Image

Still more to come from Import Alliance!

Random sickness, v.4:

3 wheeling Fiat Abarth!Image

Modified Hyundai Veloster?Image

Was just talking to a friend the other day about how you almost never see the Kia Soul modded…

Image

Maybe a big Japanese GT-VIP style Lexus GS430 is more your style?Image

For more speed, add lightness: Lotus Cortina carrying the inner wheel through a banked turn.Image

Big Mercedes W126 laid out, likely on air: straight up gangster.Image

Another german on air ride: Mini Cooper on BBS wheels.Image

Sorry for the low res, but how awesome is this arctic prepped Nissan Frontier?Image

And some Japanese drifter conversion weirdness: Nissan S13 with Mercedes headlight conversion.

Image

I’m a sucker for air ride and roof boxes. Any car is better to me with those two things. Like this Scion XB 2nd gen.Image

East Coast Fitment Fitment Festival 11/03/12 v.1:

A collection of images from The East Coast Fitment Festival in Concord, NC.

This Pontiac looked slammed in more ways than one. Image

I love these fender flares, I would definitely use these if I had an E36!Image

Mustang Mach 1 wheels on this Nissan 300ZX looked good.Image

This paint was crazy, it had a ton of pearl or flake or something in it.ImageImageImage

Not a fan of this paint job, but at least it was well executed.Image

Why orange grille and wheels? Because racecar.Image

The fitment this Evo was rocking was pretty impressive. I love these deep dish Work wheels.ImageImageImageImageImage

JDM front bumper on this Infiniti M series looked good… I liked his flag too. Image

R32 Skyline wearing a Veilside kit was a treat.Image

More to come!
