Sema: Suit and Tie edition

“VIP” has grown as a style from the days of big black, mostly stock-bodied Japanese sedans slammed on static suspension and big expensive wheels. Nowadays, pretty much any color and any make is fair game, as well as crazy body kits and loud details.

The new, “Imported from Detroit” Chrysler 300C looks natural dropped on flashy wheels.

The new Hyundai Genesis sedan sitting mean in a dark grey is another example of the new VIP.

Fitment being on point is still a big part of the VIP trend as demonstrated on this VIP Y50, or Infiniti M45 as it is more commonly known.

RVIP Infiniti M45 (2)

Another Infiniti M45. What are your thoughts on these wheels?

Sema: Acura and Honda

This year the domestics were definitely more prevalent than the imports. That being said, Acuras and Hondas:

I was really surprised to see this clean JDM swapped Acura Integra on beautiful Mugen MF10 wheels and powered by an equally gorgeous gold-plated ITB shod K swap.

RAcura Integra (1) RAcura Integra (2)

I should have taken more pics of this quarter mile monster.  RAcura Integra (4)

The aero on this thing!

Look! Time travel is possible! It has to be, cause this looks like it came straight from 1999.

RAcura NSX (6)

This one has a bit of a mid 2000’s vibe.

RAcura NSX (7)

The Rocket Bunny Acura NSX did not get a good spot in the show and seemed very overlooked. Unfortunate but oh well, what can you do?

The engine bay setup was pretty on this beast.

Import Alliance Atlanta 4/21/13 v.3: The VIPS

Some of these are less than traditional, but all have a VIP flavor!

Acura CL painted Laguna blue from a E46 M3, rocking BMW 7 Series wheels:Image

Non traditional wheel color choice, but it works on this stanced Acura RL:Image

Luxury Abstract wheels work wonders on this blacked out toucan-beaked Acura TL:Image

This mask was on the dash of the red-wheeled Acura TL above!Image

Good looking Honda Accord on some wheels I don’t know the name of:Image

Luxury Abstract mesh makes another appearance on this blacked out  Honda Accord:
Image

Black not your style? How about white on white like this Honda Accord?Image

The BMW 7 series wheels are very popular for VIP on a budget due to their availability and wide 19″ sizes, as shown in chrome on this Infiniti M45:Image

Some really nice custom work on the back bumper of this Infiniti M45:Image

Burgundy paint and bronze lips make this wheel choice pop on this G35:Image

Infiniti M45’s are a staple in the VIP ethos of tuning, and it’s not hard to see why!Image

G35’s are making their mark too, as this example on Weds Kranze Bazreia proves!Image

The lighting wasn’t very good in this shot, but BMW 7 series wheels make a third appearance. Check out the JDM front bumper on this Infiniti M45.Image

G37 looking aggressive!Image

Another Infiniti M45:Image

Another, with a ton of custom bodywork:Image

Mustang Cobra wheels work well on this Lexus GS300:Image

The blacked out accents make this Lexus GS430 look menacing:Image

Some rarely seen Work VS-MX on this Lexus SC300:Image

Simple styling and color matching sets this Lexus GS430 off!Image

BMW 7 series wheels on this Nissan 300ZX give it a little VIP style!Image

Still more to come from Import Alliance!

Import Alliance Atlanta 4/21/13 v.2: Honda Civics

The bread and butter of any good Import Alliance meet: the Honda Civics!

Clean and simple, a good example of the popular style right now.

Image

Not quite sure why the fender is a different color, but I’m a big fan of color matched wheels!Image

Another simple Civic: Drop, stylish well fitted wheels, done!Image

I was digging the front bumper setup on this EG coupe!Image

Shaved bay, chromed components, white letter tires, and more.. tons of stuff going on here.Image

Another EG showing how a shaved bay should be done.Image

Enkei’s new Apache wheel, well represented on this EF hatch.Image

More on the car this engine bay is attached to coming up soon!Image

I like this shade of blue, and the BBS RS’s aren’t bad either!Image

Some nice details on the EK Coupe: 5 lug swap, Prelude wheels (with the rears going the wrong way) Projectors, etc.

Image

Stance done wrong: too much height and needs either more camber or a narrower tire.Image

Stance done right!Image

I have a friend who just bought a Civic like this:Image

Anyone know what wheels are on this super-dumped EK sedan?Image

Not a fan of the hood bra or front camber, but otherwise really nice!Image

This thing had some seriously tiny tires on it! I think they were 165/45R15’s!Image

Yet another example of the less-is-more style.Image

Mugen edition Civic looking mean!Image

Look, twins!

Image

I know there’s not much done, but I like how aggressive this one looks, I like the color and it was so clean!

Image

Another set of wheels I can’t identify! Also note the Civic RR style bumper.Image

The JDM converted rear looks so much better than ours!Image

K swap and J Line wheels set this Sunburst orange EK off right!Image

Some like it, some hate it, but either way the Rat look is making an impact on our scene.Image

Four red EG’s all together.Image

Lower it! Drag DR27 low offsets on this one too.Image

It’s amazing what a drop and a good set of wheels will do! Why don’t more people mod beige cars?

Image

Yep. Pennies.

Image

I think this guy had the worst luck of anyone I’d seen at the show. Busted oil pan, cracked wheel, damaged quarter panel, and cracked windshield.Image

Teal and blue: 1 of a kind.Image

Okay, maybe 2 of a kind!Image

XXR 527’s making an appearance on this gunmetal EK.Image

The stance on this thing is spot on. I love the color, the wheels, the fitment  the whole package just works for me.Image

Steven Campbell, take notes!Image

White on white Civic peeking out of the line of stanced hellaflush rides!Image

Got camber?

Image

J lines again!

Image

Gold on black, a timeless combo!Image

Like K swaps?

Image

Pretty nice tuck going on here!Image

Much more to come!
