Decided to dig through the archives and post some old stuff for awhile. Enjoy!

Honda Civic with old school hood graphics at their finest.

Nissan S13 looking quite period correct for its time.

This wild Honda Civic drove in pulling a trailer. I can’t imagine what this must have been like to drive at full chat.

Lexus GS headlights on a VW Beetle with some “interesting” bodywork. 2006, folks.

This Civic blew me away in 2006 and it is still breaking necks today. I should do a feature on it sometime as the craftsmanship is amazing.

Nissan Altima convertible… ooookkkkaaayyyy…

This Audi was one of the rare cars actually on point.

This Supra was another. Rear fitment is a little off but other wise pretty well done.

The Fuzion Tires chop top Jeep Wrangler on some import-tuner style wheels in a eye-catching grape purple paint job.

I thought this was the cleanest car at Nopi. A Saturn SL2, which had every inch gone over and either upgraded, or refinished to an exceptional level of quality.

I didn’t even know how awesome this was, only that I’d never seen a Skyline like this KPGC10 before.

Another well done contestant, a gorgeous R33 Skyline on gold BBS wheels.

Widebodys were everywhere and rarely looked truly “right”, like shown on this Lexus IS300.

Boser hoods were still all the rage in the euro circles, like this MK3 Jetta demonstrates.

Pontiac Firebird on Corvette wheels was a bit of a fish out of water among all the imports.

R32 Skyline on Nismo wheels and wearing a RB Motoring banner. Wonder what happened to this car after Motorex went under?

GM brought a bunch of modded vehicles every year. In 2006 this banana yellow Pontiac G6 was one of them *shudder*.

Speaking of shuddering, how many of you would daily this wild Lexus?

I still think this was a game changer in the Lexus SC game. NOS sponsored drift style, don’t know if it ever competed or was just a show pony.

Daihatsu pickup. Ridiculous is about the only word I can think of to describe this.

Last but not least. I believe this was packing decent firepower underhood but some questionable graphics on the exterior.

Day four was the shortest for me, I regret that I only discovered Toyo Tires awesome treadpass as I was leaving as it may have had the sum total of the coolest metal at the event. Enjoy day four:

I’ve been out of this site for a long time, but I’m planning to get back into it again. I went to the Sema show and it was an  increbile fulfillment of a childhood dream. I will be back! Here are some highlights of the show.

This oddball shoe shaped car is a Volvo 480, and this rocks a full drivetrain conversion of FWD to RWD with a BMW transmission along with it’s E36 Motorsports wheels!

BMW 5 series wheels suit this Toyota Chaser just right.

BMW Style 5’s on this Triumph TR6 look good!

Another showing by BMW, 7 series staggered 19 inchers filling the fenderwells of this Z33 Nissan:

An uncommon car in the stance scene, and it took a lot of work for this one to sit like it does with BMW X5 wheels on this Peugeot 406 coupe.

BMW wheels are a fairly common swap on the Chevy S series trucks, and these M Parallels look pretty good on this lowered example. 

C4 Corvette wheels on an MK5 Jetta looking good:

C5 “Wagon wheels” are super popular in the Audi/VW stance world thanks to great availability, low price and spacer/adapter friendly high offsets. Double stagger works well on this A4.

Still under construction, Z06 corvette wheels set off this S10.

C6 corvette wheels on this black on black Chevy S10 looking good.

Corvette ZR1 wheels on this Oldsmobile grille swapped S10 sitting fat and flush on some wide meats.

Bonneville salt flats, v.2: MORE SPEED

Another round of unlikely heroes of the Salt:

Starting this off is the Mitsubishi Evo’s older brother, the Galant VR4.

Another Studebaker, getting a push. This is typically due to a combination of engine tuning, cooling systems and tall gears.

One of the great things about Bonneville is the sheer variety of vehicles that run. Check out this Subaru Justy!

 

Can you guess what this is? A Triumph Spitfire in all it’s aerodynamically modified glory.

Edit: Thanks to Bob Smith for the correction, this is actually a Triumph GT6+ which is a bit different than a Spitfire!  

Volvo’s can run too. Just ask this awesome Volvo P1800.

New cars are developed every year by manufactures to often prove a point of technology. VW entered a Jetta Hybrid last year, and did pretty well.
